Outside of the Classroom
I have a few hobbies outside of academics that I am looking forward to spending more time developing as my undergraduate career wraps up. While I have had interests in these hobbies for as long as I can remember, some of them (such as Sewing and Dancing) really took off during my time at University. In some regards, this has made them particularly difficult to pursue as it can be challenging to find the time between my coursework and developing skills in these areas.
I find that each of the hobbies is something I take pride in. I enjoy the work I put out when I sew and bake. Having a good dance with a person I've never met before and finally getting from the start to the end of a song on the piano also leaves me with a sense of accomplishment. It is always exciting to know that I am continuing to move forward in those things which interest me. Despite how self-centered it sounds, I am particularly pleased when I get compliments from my family and friends about my hobbies. It is always wonderful to know that the things you take interest in are enjoyed by the people around you and I hope that I can hone in on these skills more and more as time goes by, especially now that I will have a little more time to devote to the task. |
